We have a young male from this breeding that was born in 2008. Luke is a beautiful dog with exceptional talent in the water and the uplands. U Litter (VDD Registered) is Rabe and Axel, due 4-19-2010U Litter Dam is Delta vom Bandofer-Forst (Rabe). We imported Rabe from Germany in the spring of 2007. Rabe is now a highly driven and very powerful 3 year old female. Rabe has excellent aptitude in all areas of hunting. Perhaps a review of her test history is the best way to promote her skills. At a very young 8 months she was tested in the VHDF Hunting Aptitude Evaluation were she scored a slightly above average 57 points. Her search had not yet developed at that age, but she earned a rare, 11 in Water Aptitude. By the following spring after a full hunting season her skills had matured and she earned 72 points in the VJP with 11's in Nose, Search, and Cooperation. By that fall she was mostly trained, and she earned 177 in the HZP with 11's in Search and Pointing. She was also tested in the VHDF Advanced Hunting Aptitude Evaluation were she earned 170 points with 11's in Water Search Behind the Duck and in Desire. Finally, after another hunting season, in 2009 we prepared Rabe for the VHDF Performance Evaluation. The VHDF Performance Evaluation is without a doubt the most difficult, one day, versatile hunting dog evaluation in North America. It requires 3 back to back grueling water subjects, and a nerve racking one hour field search with a brace mate where backing and complete steadiness is required. Click on the above link and read the PE rules if you doubt the degree of difficulty of this test. Few dogs can make it through the entire test without falling apart in one of the test subjects. Rabe showed her strength of balance between desire and cooperation by earning 214 points with 11's in Independent Water Search, Desire, and Steadiness and Manners. We are proud to say that 214 points is the highest score earned to date in this event. We ask a great deal of our versatile dogs. Strong desire and cooperation, if well balanced, is the key to being able to train these dogs for so many different conflicting tasks at such high levels. Rabe epitomizes that balance and is destined to be yet another great dog in our program. Rabe is 59 cm tall and 59 cm long; she has a sweet disposition around dogs and people; her coat is medium short and medium dense; her conformation is rated very good; and her hips are rated HD free by Germany and by PennHIP. Her PennHIP DI is L.35 and R. 30 placing her in the middle of the 70th percentile. Rabe was bred to Axel, the father of our "T" litter described above.
